Coming to Aotearoa to visit Rotorua
This week, we only have two days of class on Monday and Tuesday. From Wednesday until Friday, we visited Rotorua for a field trip. Let’s begin with my learning experience this week. I decided on my topic for research, I had discussed it with Priska in tutoring class on Monday. She gives me insight into my research. But after that, I still wondered if my topic was too general or not. My topic is, “Improving Local Cultural Awareness of Indonesian Tertiary Students.” But now, I started searching for resources about the problems briefly, some effects, causes, and solutions that have been done and for the future.
Next, about the IELTS class, I like how we practice speaking paired with each other. Then, we read the text and answered some questions. After this class, I realized what I should do to answer all the questions in a tight time when I am not familiar with the topic of the text in the IELTS reading part.
Then, about Rotorua. Wednesday is the first day of Ramadan and the first day of the field trip. Before I joined the field trip, I thought it would not be easy if you are fasting when you are on a field trip, but when I did that, it was no problem, I still can enjoy every moment. I like the weather, it’s not too cold and not too hot, and not windy like in Wellington. For me, there are three favorite parts. First, when we visited Huka Falls, it had big waves, and the watercolor was so beautiful like unreal.
Second, we feed alpacas in Agrodome. For the first time, I was a little bit afraid but after that it was fine, I enjoyed this moment.
Last, we have hangi for our dinner/fasting break, it’s simple and tasty, I like the lamb chop that they cook traditionally. When I came back to my Apartment I broke my bag zipper.
